BudgetAutoRates is an online insurance referral service. We are not an insurance company, we don't sell policies, and we don't represent any specific carrier. Our job is simpler: take your basic details, match you with insurance companies and licensed agents competing for your business, and let you compare what comes back.
That independence is the point. Because we don't underwrite anything, we have no reason to steer you toward one carrier over another. The quote that wins is the one with the best number for your situation, and walking away is always an option.

How we make money
Plainly: carriers and agencies pay us a commission when we connect them with a shopper. You never pay us anything. This site also contains affiliate marketing links and phone numbers, which means the operators of this site may get paid a commission on sales of the products or services advertised.
That model has one honest consequence worth knowing: we only get paid when a connection happens, so we want you to find a policy you like. But the price you pay a carrier is the same whether you arrive through us or go to them directly. Our commission comes out of their marketing budget, not your premium.

Behind the mascot is a small editorial team. Our guides are written and reviewed in-house against public sources we name on the page, and every rate figure follows the process on our methodology page. Where a number is an estimate rather than a quote, we say so on the spot.
